About The Celebration®
The term “The Celebration®” refers to both the historic annual event and the organization that brings it to life. The origins of this festival trace back to Henry Davis of Wartrace, TN, who, after witnessing the Crimson Clover Festival in 1939, envisioned a celebration dedicated to the region’s prized asset — the Tennessee Walking Horse. His idea blossomed into the first event in September 1939, and since then, The Celebration® has become a beloved annual tradition.
A Premier Equestrian Facility
Spanning over 100 acres, The Celebration® has evolved into one of the most prominent equestrian complexes in the country. It features a 30,000-seat outdoor stadium, a 4,200-seat indoor arena, a covered outdoor practice arena, and over 886 permanent horse stalls. For extended stays, the grounds include fully-equipped campgrounds with over 289 RV hookups, offering a comprehensive experience for both participants and visitors.
Each year, more than 2,000 horses compete over the course of this 10-day-and-night event, culminating in the crowning of the World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse® on the final night. It’s an experience that leaves spectators in awe, as the thrill and tradition of The Celebration® continue to capture the hearts of all who attend.
